LKN Bengals FAQ
Why choose LKN Bengals?
At LKN Bengals, we are registered with both The International Cat Association (TICA) and the Cat Fanciers' Association (CFA), ensuring the highest standards and ethical practices in our breeding program. We are dedicated to producing Bengal kittens that exemplify the breed's excellence, with striking rosettes, vibrant coats, and playful personalities. Our breeding pairs are selected carefully for their genetic diversity and compatibility, enhancing the breed's vitality and reducing the risk of hereditary conditions. We focus on producing kittens with impeccable breed standards and strong health. From an early age, our kittens receive abundant love, care, and socialization, ensuring they grow into confident, well-adjusted companions. We maintain a strict breeding schedule, avoiding overbreeding to ensure the health and well-being of our cats. Additionally, we are committed to finding loving, responsible homes for our kittens and thoroughly screen potential owners to make sure they understand the unique needs of Bengals.
What health testing do your breeding cats undergo?
Our breeding cats are screened annually for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) at Charlotte Animal Referral & Emergency (CARE), ensuring they are free from this hereditary heart condition. Additionally, we use Zoolgix - Molecular Diagnostic Testing for Animals to perform a PCR test for the Feline Respiratory PCR Panel. This panel tests for six key feline respiratory pathogens: Bordetella bronchiseptica, Chlamydophila felis, feline calicivirus (FCV), feline herpesvirus 1 (FHV-1), influenza, and Mycoplasma felis. These screenings help ensure our cats are healthy and free from respiratory infections, maintaining the highest standards of health in our breeding program.
